I love the saying "Hay is for Horses", especially because it always reminds me of my brother, Steve, and his buddies on the South Alabama baseball team and their "janking" activities. Along with rolling down windows at a rapid pace when a pedestrian was passing by only to adjust the side view mirror and saying nothing, faking a wave and adjusting the rearview mirror or raising a hand as if to wave "Hi" and then adjusting the bill of one's baseball cap, saying "Hay......is for Horses" in the vicinity of a passerby who would respond with an awkward "Hello" was always one of my favorites because of its combination of comedic effect and utter silliness.
That saying is particularly appropriate here, where Forsyth County, at the direction of Commissioner Semanson, has actually stopped Mommies Properties
from growing grass on the Equestrian Center Property in certain
designated pasture areas, thus keeping it from being able to maintain horses on its property. While not very funny to a business owner who no longer has the ability to operate his business, this whole situation is quite silly, indeed, and despite our best efforts to resolve the matter amicably, we have been unable to make any progress with the County.
