What is a Special Master?

A Special Master is an attorney who lives in the County in which an Action is pending who is appointed by the court to investigate the issues, make factual and legal findings and provide a recommendation to the court which the court may adopt, modify or reject. Quiet title proceedings require the appointment of a Special Master and the idea behind having a Special Master involved is to help streamline the issues that are required to be determined by the court.
